Falling Water ~one hour by a dartmoor river~

January 5, 2016

The beginnings of a new beginning….

Falling Water

~one hour by a dartmoor river~

.

.

.

noon

a few days
past midwinter
the dark seasons spell
still holds sway

the sun scores a line

but only for a moment
as the edge of the wide basin
hemmed by smooth peaks
is lost to cloud
once again

.

.

.

two rooks cross the murk
one higher calling the other
dark shapes in a dark sky

the wind

with its broad pushes and pulls

tests the dark wings
which skew and slant
its edges rifting a path
which slams shut behind

the voice
and sight of these travellers
is lost to the distance

.

.

.

.

……………

.

This is the start of a new long poem to be accompanied by music, painting, drawing and photography.
